Our client has embarked on modernising its technology to improve service delivery for its customers & improve business efficiency. This opportunity will see you:

• Design & implement the Azure Databricks infrastructure for future data, BI and AI capabilities.  Scalability & data security are paramount.
• Deliver Ingestion, Transformation and Governance of data from key applications that support a reliable “single version of the truth” for reporting and analytics
• Design & deploy secure, scalable ETL or ELT pipelines with Databricks, Delta Lakehouse & Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Establish & embed DataOps & DataSecOps practices ( CI/CD, version control and automated security scanning of data pipelines
• Increase the capability of the Power BI Architecture
• Bring Best Practice in data engineering
• Enable reporting / BI for informed business decision making and consider the benefits AI can deliver.

Your contribution will really improve people’s lives and, through organisation efficiencies & BI, services can be offered to more customers in need.

ABOUT YOU

We’d like to hear from you if you bring expertise in:

• Data engineering architectural principles with proven data systems design
• SQL and Python with an understanding of medallion architecture
• Implementing & operating cloud-based data platforms, ideally Azure and Databricks OR you might have worked with MS Fabric ( or similar) and like to transfer to Databricks.
• Built ETL/ ELT pipelines
• Knows best practice in data engineering
• Be excited to build something really well in a greenfield environment without legacy
• Making the right technical decisions to deliver something great
• DESIRABLE (not essential) Power BI security & admin

Salary: circa £63,000 Plus benefits including 25 days hols + 8 days public rising to 30 days, pension, discounted gym membership, holiday purchase, retail discounts, Health Cash Plan and more

Location: Bridgend, South Wales

Hybrid Working: 2 days a week in the Bridgend Office, 3 days a week from home.

Our client is successful UK company providing its SaaS platform to clients globally with a large volume of users 24x7. The current tech stack limits business growth into new markets and ability to meet client requests; hence it’s needs to invest in platform modernisation.

The current tech stack is a web application platform hosted on Microsoft Azure, utilising Azure DevOps.

Reporting to the MD, you’ll bring vision to take ownership of tech strategy, product roadmaps, design and delivery of the platform modernisation. There’s an appetite for change & support of a complete modernisation. Selected platform technology needs to support business objectives, create future opportunities, product diversification, scalability, considering emerging tech, automation and AI.

Leading a small team (product owner & Devs), this includes:

• Product leadership/management – Product Vision, Roadmaps, Prioritisation and Customer feedback  
• Technology Leadership – Technology Strategy Definition, Platform Architecture, SaaS operations, Security and Development oversight
• Some Commercial & Stakeholder Management – occasional customer meetings, Tender support, Board reporting, and budget ownership
• Governance & Compliance - GDPR, ISO27001, Audit responses and Risk management
• Ownership of DevOps
• Team leadership and strategic direction
• Ensuring continued evolution, security, scalability, availability and commercial success of this platform
• Platform stability and client delivery with innovation

ABOUT YOU

To be considered, you need to bring proven delivery and expertise in:

• Defined strategy then delivering modernisation of an aging platform, ensuring continued service delivery and successful transition of clients to the new platform
• Software engineering / development / been a developer or come up through development
• Vision, defining and delivering technology strategy
• SaaS platforms, cloud tech, cloud architecture, software architecture and user experience.
• Software security, cybersecurity, data privacy (GDPR / data Residency) and platform resilience
• Make the transition journey positive for team, company and clients
• Product management
• Project management
• Up to date on Technology and DevOps
• Audits / ISO27001 knowledge
• Commercially astute, stakeholder management, ability to work with the business, team leadership and collaboration.

Location: Worcester, Worcestershire

Hybrid Working: 2 days in the office each week – so applicants must be within reasonable commuting distance of Worcester (Full time remote working is not an option)

Salary: Up to £85,000 + Bonus + excellent benefits, 25 days + public holidays, holiday purchase, EAP, Pension and more
