Our client helps major household names & UK market leaders to improve their customer communications & build the best customer relationships. It has production and digital communications to deliver this. There’s over 50 people in the IT department with a team of Infrastructure Engineers, so lots of expertise and talented IT colleagues to liaise with & learn from.
With operations at multiple locations, the technical environment includes Azure Cloud, AWS, Veeam, Monitoring application (Checkmk), VMware, Active Directory (Group Policy Configuration), Wins Server, MDM, SAN, Patch Management, System Hardening, MS Clustering, Vlan, Firewall policies /Administration/ config, CISCO switches, M365, telephony & APIs.
The company grew via acquisition so has various infrastructure from each acquired company. Now it is modernising its infrastructure to Azure, new data centres and new strategic platforms. Lots of change, growth with further acquisitions and transitioning to Azure mean lots of new Infrastructure projects, data centre changes and challenges are on the horizon for you to contribute to. It is adopting ITIL, upgrading lots of hardware and improving infrastructure resilience.
3rd line Infrastructure troubleshooting / support of service requests and incidents on a broad range of tech is also your remit, so you’ll logically troubleshoot & problem solve to resolve issues. You might liaise with the business to understand the service issue so that you can systematically find the resolution.
Initially this job will be 70% support / 30% projects but will move to 50% support / 50% projects longer term.

ABOUT YOU: We’d like to hear from you if you have:
- Broad experience of IT Infrastructure and troubleshooting to 3rd line support
- Experience of troubleshooting several of the following: Cloud, ideally Azure, Networking Cisco (Routing / switches), Veeam, Monitoring application (Checkmk, Elastic Stack, Wazuh), VMware, Active Directory (Group Policy Config) Wins Server, MDM, SAN, Patch Management, System Hardening, MS Clustering, Firewall policies / Administration, M365 & APIs
- VMWare (essential)
- Good communications skills to liaise with IT colleagues of all levels
- An enthusiastic approach, self-motivated, enjoy problem solving and like sharing your ideas for improvements plus enjoy working on a breadth of infrastructure projects and support
- Requires a driving licence.
Beneficial technical skills (but not essential to apply) are: Hybrid Cloud Environment, Azure, AWS, IIS / Web configuration, CentOS, Linux + working in an ITIL environment
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + depending on experience plus benefits PLUS additional On-Call payments
Location: Leicester - Hybrid working where you will be required in the Leicester office 2 days a week, usually Wednesday and Thursday and the rest of the time you can work from home.
It is office hours Monday to Friday with an on call remote support requirement for which there is additional payment.
