As Director of IT Operations, you’ll own the global IT Service Delivery leading a team of Service Delivery Managers and Engineers providing services across applications, desktop, network & server infrastructure, data comms and telecoms systems in an ITIL environment.
As many of the locations operate autonomously, you’ll use a collaborative approach to business partnering with the business leadership at each location. You’ll understanding their current and future needs to ensure Service Delivery meets business needs. Plus, you’ll advise on future IT needed to achieve their growth plans including spend / budgets.
Keeping the Service Delivery Team motivated is key to success as is implementing Service Delivery to acquired companies. Service improvement, budget management, supplier management, contract negotiation and proactively gathering information on business demand are all part of your role.
Need more challenge? For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to also lead the Applications Team to deliver new and evolving Business Intelligence / data for business decision making. You’ll engage with senior business leaders to ascertain business needs, negotiate and influence what can be delivered, prioritising and ensuring the team deliver what has been agreed. This is very much about relationship management / business partnering
Location / Travel: Your home location could be anywhere in England as meeting the business is key, so expect to visit UK sites 3 or 4 days a week for the first 6 months with one or two days a week working from home. Locations are spread across England and Wales. You’ll probably take 2 or 3 trips international trips a year and expect to spend 2 – 4 weeks out of the UK each year.
ABOUT YOU
We’d like to hear from you if you have:
- Successfully led a multi-site IT Service Delivery, ideally to multiple countries
- Business partnering expertise with stakeholders located in different countries / multi-cultural organisation regarding current and future IT needs
- Experience in a manufacturing sector
- Delivered in an ITIL environment, focussing on best practice
- Third party vendor management including contracts
- A customer focussed, pragmatic and collaborative approach with the ability to influence and negotiate
To also take on the leadership of the Applications Team you’ll need:
- To demonstrate business engagement, prioritisation and delivery of Applications or Business Intelligence, where you’ve motivated the team to do a significant change in an organisation
- Developed IT talent
- Delivered in an environment with formal change management processes
SALARY
£80,000 - £110,000 depending on expertise, + car / car allowance + 10% Bonus + pension + healthcare + retail discounts + share save plan + life assurance + holiday (25 days plus public holidays)
